For those of you wondering what swimmer Michael Phelps is doing these days, it appears that he's trying his hand at baseball....or at least batting practice
Phelps attended Baltimore Orioles spring training today as a "non-roster invitee" and below is a photo of him talking to outfielder Adam Jones:

Tweet Record 18-time Olympic gold-medalist and Maryland native Michael Phelps was welcomed in Sarasota, Florida on Thursday to take some swings with the Baltimore Orioles. The Orioles pulled out all of the bells and whistles for Phelps, giving him a locker, a name-plate, a jersey and of course actually letting him step into the batter’s [...]
The Baltimore Orioles bucked their trend in 2012, shooting up the AL East ladder and making a rare playoff appearance. Their 93-69 record was not only surprising but it broke a streak of consecutive last place finishes dating back to 2008. In fact, they hadn’t put together so much as a winning season since 1997.
So to say that they shocked the baseball world is certainly fair....

Dylan Bundy is the highest rated pitching prospect in all of baseball, and is creating a lot of buzz and excitement around Baltimore regarding his future. You can’t blame an Orioles fan for envisioning him as their Stephen Strasburg. But before we hop into Doc Brown’s Delorean and head to the future, let’s take a look at what matters...
It has been quite a journey for Baltimore Orioles second baseman Brian Roberts for the past several seasons.
Roberts is the longest tenured member of the Orioles, having played his entire 12-year career with the organization; however, he has spent more time as a bystander than on the field.
Now the question for Orioles fans is this: can Roberts still be a productive player...
(Photo credit: Christopher T. Assaf /Baltimore Sun) Never let it be said or argued that Michael Phelps doesn’t spread his love around to more than just the Ravens when it comes to Baltimore sports teams. On Thursday, the 27-year-old Olympic champion and die-hard Baltimore sports fan (and close personal friend of Ray Lewis), showed up at Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota, Fla. to participate...
Michael Phelps has conquered the swimming world, and now he’s trying his hand at baseball — or batting practice at least.
Phelps is a “non-roster invitee” at Baltimore Orioles camp on Thursday, according to Jon Morosi of FoxSports.com. The Olympic gold medalist arrived at the Orioles’ spring training facility at 10:30 a.m. He’s wearing No. 18 for the number of gold medals...
Olympian swimmer Michael Phelps was in the Baltimore Orioles camp in Sarasota, Florida and took batting practice. And judging by the clip below, he could probably swim half a length in the same amount of time it takes to get his bat through the strike zone.
“It’s been a long time since I swung a bat,” Phelps said before walking into the cage.
A few minutes before he starting...
Against all, or at least most, odds the Baltimore Orioles flew on into the playoffs in 2012. It defied logic really. I mean on paper they had no business being there. They were not picked by, I would go ahead and say anyone, to even finish higher than fifth in the A.L. East, let alone make the playoffs. They even managed to take the New York Yankees to five games in the League...
I know there are many of you, probably more than 50 percent of you, that don’t like the Orioles, and that’s fine. But here are Kevin Gausman and Chris Davis playing cornhole in the clubhouse, as Manny Machado looks on, and I dare you to not like that.

Michael Phelps is enjoying the heck outta retirement judging by this fun little gallery. Phelps is dating 22-year old model/waitress Sarah Herndon, who is originally from SoCal. According to her Facebook age, Herndon is a server at Katana Robata and Sushi Bar in Hollywood, CA.
Phelps and Herndon have been together since just before Christmas. So what does Herndon see in the...
In Sarasota, Florida for the filming of an upcoming ‘Haney Project’ episode, Michael Phelps got some swings in during the Baltimore Orioles training camp on Thursday.
The 18-time Olympic gold medal winner could use a few pointers on his loopy baseball swing.
AL BEast Notebook – Feb 21
No team had as interesting a year as the Orioles in 2012. Their pitching staff was a game of trial and error that statistically wasn’t very good but still put them in the playoffs and got them past the mighty Texas Rangers in the Wild Card round. The most amazing stat for the Orioles is that despite having just one pitcher throw more than 135 innings...
Here is the patch the Orioles will wear in 2013 on their jersey sleeve in honor of Earl Weaver: twitter.com/Orioles/status…

Classy gesture, though I’d prefer it say “Earl ********* Weaver.” RIP.
Jim Thome is ready to play. Will he get that chance?
