Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick gave every fan a fright when he was forced to leave the preseason opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers holding his left throwing hand in terrible pain. Fortunately, it appears that the injury is minor and Vick is expected to practice this week without any trouble.

Vick hit his thumb on the back of offensive lineman Jason Kelce’s helmet on a third down pass in the Eagles’ 24-23 win over the Steelers. His pleasure is was quite evident as he cringed on the sidelines and sent shockwaves through Twitter where every local reporter and fan braced for the worst.
The left-handed gunslinger called the injury a “freak injury” and voiced no concern over it following Saturday morning’s walkthrough.
“I know how to deal with it,” Vick told reporters.
Vick isn’t kidding. Last season, Vick suffered the same injury in a game against the Washington Redskins in Week 17. The Eagles quarterback went on to pass for 335 yard...
