From his days as a small-time gameshow and radio host to American Idol, Ryan Seacrest has seen it all in the world of entertainment. However, despite Seacrest’s prolific career in Los Angeles, sports was probably one area that he hadn’t engaged in so much. That makes it all the more surprising that new Lakers coach Mike D’Antoni‘s first interview with an L.A. outlet was with Seacrest and KIIS-FM. For the record, Seacrest seems to handle the interview pretty well. Even if he’s not capable of asking a complicated question about Steve Nash‘s role in the offense and playing off the ball, most of his queries were sufficiently better than his opening gambit of “Did you do anything over the weekend?” Among the points touched on during the interview were the pressure that D’Antoni feels, his recent knee replacement surgery and knowing Kobe Bryant as a 12-year-old — credit Seacrest for asking that question.
