Mike Pettine Joins Bills As Defensive Coordinator

The Bills hired Pettine as their defensive coordinator, according to ESPN. Pettine held the same title with the Jets the past four seasons, but head coach Rex Ryan is the ultimate overseer of the Jets’ defense. Now Pettine will be away from Ryan’s shadow, while remaining in the familiar territory of the AFC East. Ryan joked Tuesday that he wanted Pettine to get a job, but not with the Bills. "I’m hoping he doesn’t take that job," Ryan said. "I’m hoping he goes somewhere else. Mike and I have been together for 10 years and he’s a tremendous coach. Mike thinks it's best that he goes to a different team as a defensive coordinator, and I wish him all the best, unless he goes to Buffalo. I love Mike and I respect him.’’ Source: Sporting News
