Sometimes it takes a little competition to bring you back to your “A” game. Philly.com, has reported that Vick might be seeing the light at the end of his playing tunnel fading a little more quickly than he likes. Ever since Vick has been injured with a strained hamstring, Foles has taken over and brought victory back to Philly. Foles has 16 touchdowns and no interceptions… Vick has every right to be worried. Vick was asked by The Inquirer if he expected his job back once he has healed from his injury, his response? “That’s not something that I’m thinking about at this point,” Vick said Tuesday. “The last thing I want to be is a distraction to this team. I’m just working hard to get myself healthy. Nick’s played great . . . He’s played confident. He’s playing the way we know he can play. I do consider myself a starter, but if [Kelly] has a viable explanation or good reason for why it should be anything different, I’ve got to understand that,” Vick said, adding: “One thing about it, I’m confident in my abilities. We all know what I can do when I’m out there.” Even with Foles winning and Vick not having a comeback set in stone, Kelly refuses to name the starting quarterback. “I think what we’ve done for the last two weeks has worked for us pretty good, so we’re going to stick with that formula,” Kelly said Monday. “It’s got us 16 touchdowns, no interceptions, and two wins, so why would we change?” Personally, I never expected Vick to perform to his previous abilities, he was either going to come out great or become mediocre. He’s a great QB but aside from injuries, personal life, media scrutiny, and lets even add Marcus in there for fun, we wont see Vick live up to the potential he had before (Y’all remember 2006 Vick?!). He has now become our “What If?” QB, someone who should have been great but just quite didn’t make it. He will be a heck of a back up veteran and provide great leadership to whatever team he’s on, but I don’t see Vick starting anymore.
