Altoona had their game yesterday suspended by rain, down 3-0 after two innings. They will resume the game today at 11am, then follow up with the regularly scheduled game, which will now be seven innings. Jamestown had their game suspended in the second inning, trailing 2-0 to State College. That game will be concluded on August 29th in State College. Indianapolis has an early afternoon game today. Kingham had a rough second outing for Altoona AAA: Indianapolis (53-27) vs Rochester (39-41) 1:35pm Probable starter: Brandon Cumpton (4-4, 3.31) Yesterday’s Result: Indianapolis 5, Rochester 3 Brandon Cumpton will make his 11th start for Indianapolis tonight. He has also pitched once in relief for Indy, made two starts for Altoona and most recently, he made two starts for the Pirates. With Pittsburgh, he was 0-0, 3.60 in ten innings. For Indianapolis, he has pitched a total of 65.1 innings, allowing 59 hits, four homers and 22 walks. Cumpton has 49 strikeouts, a 3.00 GO/AO ratio and a .244 BAA. In his most recent start for Indianapolis, he went seven innings, allowing two runs on nine hits and three walks, while picking up five strikeouts. AA: Altoona (34-41) vs New Britain (36-40) 11:00am   Probable starter: Nick Kingham (1-1, 3.75) Yesterday’s Result:  Altoona was suspended by rain after two innings Nick Kingham will get his third start for Altoona today. In his opener, he threw 5.2 shutout innings, allowing five hits, two walks and he struck out seven batters. In his last outing, he went 6.1 innings, giving up five runs on seven hits, a walk and he picked up six strikeouts. With Bradenton, he was 6-3, 3.09 in 13 starts. Kingham pitched 70 innings there, allowing 55 hits, six homers and 14 walks. At the time of his promotion, he was leading the Florida State League with 75 strikeouts. High-A: Bradenton (30-44 overall, 4-2 2nd half) @ Charlotte (32-41) 6:30pm Probable starter: Robby Rowland (3-5, 4.54) Yesterday’s Result: St Lucie 4, Bradenton 0 Robby Rowland will make his 15th start of the season tonight. He has pitched 69.1 innings, allowing 64 hits, six homers and 25 walks. He has 36 strikeouts, a 1.27 GO/AO ratio and a .249 BAA. In his last start, he allowed four runs on five hits and a walk in five innings. On the road this season, he is 2-2, 4.53 in nine starts. Against St Lucie on 5/26, he went four innings, giving up two runs on three hits and two walks. He hasn’t struck out more than four batters in any of his last ten games. Low-A: West Virginia (41-35 overall, 4-2 2nd half) vs Hagerstown (42-31) 7:05pm Probable starter: John Kuchno (3-3, 4.99) Yesterday’s Result: West Virginia 6, Hagerstown 1 John Kuchno will make his 12th start of the season tonight. He has also pitched twice in relief. In 61.1 innings, he has allowed 67 hits, four homers and 26 walks. He has 48 strikeouts, a 2.05 GO/AO ratio and a .283 BAA. In his last start, Kuchno lasted just three innings. He gave up five runs on six hits and two walks, with two strikeouts. He has a 6.21 home ERA, as opposed to a 3.54 ERA on the road. Short-Season A: Jamestown (5-3) vs Batavia (3-5) 7:05pm Probable Starter: TBD Yesterday’s Result: Jamestown was suspended by rain in the second inning No starter has been named for Jamestown tonight. When one is named, we will update this post. The spot was supposed to be Chad Kuhl, but he has recently been placed on the disabled list. Rookie:  GCL Pirates (3-1) vs GCL Phillies (0-4) 12:00pm Probable Starter: Wei-Chung Wang (0-1, 8.31) Yesterday’s Result: Pirates 3, Blue Jays 2 Wei-Chung Wang will make his second start of the season. In his first game, he went 4.1 innings, allowing four runs on five hits, no walks and he struck out eight batters. He was signed in 2011 and missed all of last year due to Tommy John Surgery. The Pirates originally signed him for $350,000, but when it was revealed in his physical that he needed surgery, they agreed on a lower price. For a preview of the GCL roster, check out our article here.
