I dislike when my computer just goes a little stupid and doesn't let me type.. LET ME BE ME.

Anyway, there will be no minor league update, because there is no updating to do on the minor leagues. Columbus, Kinston, and Lake County and their opponents all lost out to the rain.

However there is one important piece of news that came out of the minors last night and it concerns our organization's best pitching prospect, Hector Rondon.

Rondon wasn't pitching well to begin with and in the fourth inning left the game with what early reports are calling "right bicep soreness."

Ugh... That isn't cool... Hopefully it isn't serious, but the way things have been going with injuries, who knows.

I think I've talked about Fausto Carmona enough though, so let's shed some light on some other things, maybe some positives even.

I totally didn't mention the fact that hey, Chris Gimenez had his first major league start and his first major league hit.

"It's kind of what you dream of when you're a kid for your first hit, and it actually came true," Gimenez said. "It was definitely a blessing and it was a lot of fun. I had a blast."

"He had a real good first day," Wedge said. "We tried to get something out of a tough day."

Congrats to Gimenez on hitting a dinger for his first major league hit. That makes him and LaPorta both to have their first hits be home runs this year.

He didn't really have time to enjoy it though, because Carlos Gomez knocked the ball back into play and left some doubt into his mind.

"I looked at [third base coach] Joel Skinner and he was twirling his finger," said Gimenez. "I though he meant the ball wasn't a home run so I was busting my butt the whole way around. I didn't get to really enjoy it because it was utter panic going around the bases."

Speaking of Gomez, it turns out the little tiff between him and Lee had to do with him bunting. The same thing it had to do with last year. Gomez can talk about it being his game, and it's what got him here, and that's awesome. But really now?

Since Carmona has sucked, the fact that Carl Pavano has been awesome has been such a saving grace for this team. Sure we are still awful, but if Pavano hasn't been as good as he's been, this team would be in a much cruddier position, with less hope.

"I think just consistency," Pavano said. "Guys were playing great behind me, getting runs. Everything was kind of working together. That always helps."

"In my opinion, it's been the whole package," Cleveland manager Eric Wedge said. "He's just really been doing a good job of using all his pitches and working one off the other."

Pavano still knows he can improve though and he can give the team more length by going 90 and 100 pitches more consistently. I agree.

Add Jamey Carroll to the injury report, but luckily not the disabled list. Carroll has a swollen tip of the finger on his glove hand. But Carroll is playing through it as it's something that has happened to him before and it doesn't seem to be effecting his play.

Finally though, great news on the Travis Hafner front. He will be activated before today's game against Chicago and hopefully make his return to the Tribe lineup.

Hafner joined the team in Minnesota yesterday and Lonnie Soloff said he should be ready to go. I'm going to assume right now it's Fausto Carmona that gets the call down to Columbus, with the Indians bench kind of thin and Ohka with the ability to slide into the rotation.
