Case McCoy, the brother of Cleveland Browns quarterback Colt McCoy, ripped his brother's team via Twitter on Friday in response to a fake trade rumor.

Case, who is a quarterback at the University of Texas, apparently had been duped by a fake ESPN Twitter account that said his brother had been traded to the Eagles. He sent the following tweet, which has since been deleted:

Brandon was a reference to quarterback Brandon Weeden, who was drafted by the team in the first round this year. Weeden is expected to replace McCoy as Cleveland's starter.

It didn't take long for Case McCoy to realize he made a mistake.

Case then spent some time on Saturday apologizing for his negative comments about the Browns.

That trade report may have been false, but one has to figure it might not be long before McCoy really is traded by the team. After all, this isn't the first time one of McCoy's family members criticized the team, and the Browns reportedly aren't happy about it.

  • Nice thing he is trying to stand up for his brother...but he should really be working on being a better QB and focusing on David Ash, instead of worrying about what is being said on twitter or other social media sites...Colt is a big boy and can take care of himself...you need to focus on the Horns!

  • If it wasn't Colt it would be someone else. Cleveland has had numerous q-backs in the last 10 years and have either destroyed them or they have not met expectations due to management , coaching and just having a bad team, either no ability to run, or pass block or play defense. But go ahead Cleveland keep looking for anouther q-back. For Colt getting traded is the best thing for him. He will get anouther chance to play!!
