Georgia State teamed up with a local credit union for a promotional giveaway that was sure to attract students to the struggling football program’s games.
About 400 Georgia State students participated in a cash voucher drop at halftime of the school’s football game against New Hampshire on Saturday. As you can see in the photo above, envelopes containing vouchers for cash were dropped from the rafters.
Students earned the chance to participate in the Georgia’s Own Credit Union $10,000 Cash Drop by attending the Sept. 22 game versus Richmond and taking part in the companion ticket program, the school explained.
The school ran a similar promotion last season but doubled the amount of money available in the cash drop this year.
Students can redeem their cash vouchers at the credit union beginning on Tuesday. We’re guessing they’ll have to open accounts in order to claim the cash, but that still wouldn’t take away from how cool this promotion is.
When your team hasn’t won a game on the season, you have to do anything possible to attract fans. The cash drop was easily our favorite team promotion since this giveaway.
