Poca High School in West Virginia beat Scott High School on Friday night 40-39 on what was one of the best buzzer-beating shots from a high schooler we have ever seen. According to the Charleston Gazette, Scott had just gone ahead 39-38 on a jumper in the lane by Matt Dolan with 1.5 seconds left. Poca called a timeout and set up a play that would give them the win. The Dots (great nickname) took the ball out under their basket and elected to heave the ball down court. Sophomore Matt Chandler passed to sophomore Noah Frampton, who took one dribble, turned and fired a jump shot to win the game. The play was reminiscent of Christian Laettner’s “The Shot” that gave Duke a 104-103 win over Kentucky in the 1992 NCAA East Regional Finals. Chandler and Frampton talked to the Charleston Gazette about the play that won the game. “That was the first option,” Chandler said of the heave to Frampton. “After they called that timeout, we thought they were going to double-team Noah on the baseline on the other side of the court. Coach said either throw it to somebody at halfcourt, or throw it down [to Frampton]. No one was guarding him, I threw the ball, probably one of the best passes I’ve ever made. As soon as it left my hand, I knew he was going to make the shot.” Frampton said of the pass: “It couldn’t have been any better. “What was going through my head is I prayed before I shot the ball and I said, ‘Lord, help me make this shot,’” said Frampton, who made the shot for his ill father who was unable to attend the game. Poca is now 10-1 thanks to the improbable shot. H/T Bob’s Blitz The post High schooler Noah Frampton makes Christian Laettner shot to win game (Video) appeared first on Larry Brown Sports. Eagles players don't share McCoy's views on Chip Kelly

Without saying a word, LeSean McCoy made big news on Thursday when Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly revealed the running back hadn’t returned his calls. Are Dwyane Wade and the Heat headed for a split?

There’s little doubt that future Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade would look a bit awkward in another uniform. Even when LeBron James was providing South Beach with four straight conference titles, the Miami Heat were Wade’s team. A 12-year veteran of the Heat, one report is now indicating that Wade could opt out of his contract and look for employment elsewhere this summer. The Miami...

Adrian Peterson goes on social media rant regarding contract

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson probably doesn’t understand that “tweeting through it” won’t accomplish many goals. The much maligned veteran went on a pretty absurd Twitter rant on Thursday, talking about everything from how NFL teams don’t honor contracts to how players are thrown to the side “like trash.” It was a meltdown of epic proportions: ...

Marc Trestman will make Joe Flacco a Pro Bowler

As I mentioned in a recent article, “The ‘Wacko’ nickname has eventually taken a toll on Joe Flacco’s reputation,” as he’s yet to receive the credit that he deserves. Other than the in-house support in which Flacco gets from the Baltimore Ravens, it’s no mystery that Flacco is still viewed as a less than elite quarterback in the NFL. That could all change quickly though...

Could Tyrod Taylor be the Buffalo Bills’ savior?

Much of the chatter this offseason has been about the Buffalo Bills current quarterback situation. We all know that it us somewhere between mediocre and okay. But is it really? We know what we have with Matt Cassel. We think we know what we have with EJ Manuel, and we definitely know that Jeff Tuel is really nothing more than a camp arm. That leaves Tyrod Taylor? Could he be the...
