College football's bowl season is inching closer, and it's never too early to take a look at what the matchups might look like. With 13 weeks of results in the books, the bowl picture for nearly every team is starting to clear.
The post-Week 13 bowl projections are a mixture between how things would look if the season ended today, projection of Week 14, and considering the results so far this year.
* Indicates an at-large team due to a conference unable to fill bowl slots according to Athlon's projections.
** UCF is appealing a postseason ban and for now, is eligible to compete in the 2012 postseason.
Bold indicates a team has accepted bowl bid.

Admire your eyes for good football. The Irish are increasingly playing this kind of ball as evidenced by what might be an unprecedented goal line defense which held for eight plays inside the seven against SC as validation of what they have done consistently all year.

Just want to point out that if the above bowl projections are carefully looked at, it will be seen that ten teams Notre Dame played and beat are in Bowl Games. This is a strength of schedule stat that should not be overlooked. No other team in America can say that.
Oh, Like ND, OS played and beat how many top teams this season? Being unbeaten should mean nothing. A team who plays 4 top ten teams and loses one game as an example should be ranked above a team who plays 0 top ten teams yet is unbeaten. Be reasonable!

In the first quarter yes, but the last three? No. They beat themselves and had ample opportunity to win it several times. Florida played possibly the worst game I have ever seen them play against GA (for that matter, GA stunk the place up as well, but someone has to win).
Please look up the graduation stats and the academic standards for UA (by the way a certain UA QB was a Rhodes Scholar finalist). You shouldn't post without thinking.
The most recently published grad rates (from the NCAA) show that AL graduated at a better rate than all the teams you mentioned (with the notable exception of ND) in both football and basketball.

Football has lost to March Madness.
Can someone explain how a one-loss SEC team automatically gets a spot in the championship over everyone else?
Let's do the math here....Alabama loses to a just-okay A&M team with a freshman QB AT HOME, and Georgia gets their collective asses whipped 35-7 to a two-loss South Carolina team.
Meanwhile, an exciting, talented team like Oregon dominates every game on their schedule and loses to an excellent Stanford team in overtime, and they aren't even MENTIONED from that point on. One loss for every other team in the country means they're out of consideration, unless they're from the SEC, and then we get Alabama again. How many times has Alabama gotten the invite to the title game after losing during the season? Now find another team in the country that's allowed that priviledge.....go ahead, I dare you to find one.
Why doesn't Oregon get to play in the championship game? They only lost once, just like Alabama.
If Kansas State wins out, why don't they get to the national championship game. They would only have one loss.
Where is it written that only a one loss Alabama or one loss Georgia must play in the national championship game.
I will watch some bowl games, but absolutely will not watch the national championship game since it is designed to showcase the SEC. Could care less about that game, and getting close to not caring about college football; excuse me, I mean "SEC" football.
