It’s well-known that NBA rookies usually have a tough go at it in the locker room. Veterans commonly like to pick on the young guys, and may make them do things like carry their bags, sing in public etc. However, when you add the usual rookie hazing with April Fool’s day, you get things like this happening to Cleveland Cavaliers rookie guard Dion Waiters. Waiters, who has been a pleasant surprise in his rookie campaign after leaving Syracuse early, found his car covered in…popcorn.

Like any great prank, there are pictures to prove it courtesy of USA Today Sports.

That’s just dirty. Maybe this is Waiter’s teammates telling him to pick and pop more…

Former Syracuse Star Dion Waiters Gets The ‘Popcorn In The Car’ Prank

Cleveland Cavaliers player and former Syracuse Orange guard Dion Waiters has put together a pretty nice first season in the NBA. But he’s still a rookie, meaning that regardless of how well he plays, he’s going to get hazed. His Cavs teammates decided to play the ol’ ‘popcorn in the car’ prank on Dion this past weekend. Original? Probably not. Annoying for Waiters to have...

The Cleveland Cavaliers have developed an asinine ‘recovery plan’ for Kyrie Irving

As part of an asinine “recovery plan,” superior Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving will not compete in consecutive games for the rest of the 2012-2013 campaign. The 21-year-old Irving, averaging 23.2 points, 5.7 assists and 3.7 rebounds over 50 contests, has been plagued with a bummed knee and sprained left shoulder for the better part of a month. Irving, a 6-foot-3...

Irving sits, won't play back-to-backs

Cleveland point guard Kyrie Irving did not play Monday night against Atlanta, part of a recovery plan that will have the All-Star sitting every other game for now. After missing eight straight games with a sprained left shoulder, Irving scored 31 points and had six assists Sunday in the Cavaliers' 112-92 loss in New Orleans. For the time being, Cleveland officials plan for...

Cleveland Cavaliers: Shut Down Kyrie Irving. Now.

Why is Kyrie Irving playing,  coming off yet another injury, with only two weeks left in the season? This is absurd. He is the Cleveland Cavaliers’ franchise player and their hope for a better tomorrow, as the 20 year old is already one of the top 10-15 players in the NBA and the player they are going to be building around for the next 10+ years. Yes, Irving scored over 30 points...

Cavaliers visit Big Easy looking for a victory

After a strong start to a difficult home stretch, the New Orleans Hornets couldn't meet the challenge in their last two games. The Hornets (25-48) lost to Golden State and beat Boston to open this season-high...

Byron Scott falls victim to generational gap, frustration

Byron Scott is a paternal figure. Wise and experienced, the Cleveland Cavaliers head coach tells stories fit for the campfire. He has won multiple championships in the City of Angels, partied with Jack Nicholson, and shared a locker room with Big Country. He appreciates the finer things, is an NBA historian, and oftentimes finds himself wondering just what makes today’s players...

NFL's attempt to explain Rice suspension less than convincing

The National Football League has some of the highest-paid public relations personnel in the United States. This is one of the primary reasons that it has been able to skirt some major issues in the past as it relates to how the public perceives the league.  Unfortunately for the league, the two-game suspension Ray Rice received for assaulting his now wife Janay Palmer earlier this...

Sanders caught 11 touchdowns in four seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers and left to sign with the Denver Broncos in March. During an interview Friday with […]

Court rules against Donald Sterling's block of Clips sale

Probate court judge Michael Levanas of the California Superior Court ruled on Monday that Donald Sterling could not block the sale of the Los Angeles Clippers. Unsurprisingly, Levanas found Rochelle Sterling, Donald Sterling’s wife, to be the more credible witness of the two and he also ruled that sale of the team could begin immediately. Steve Ballmer, former Microsoft executive...

The robbers thought they had a good plan. Wait until one of the employees from the gas station came back from the bank and jump him before he knew what hit him. One small problem though, they didn’t take into account another employee happening to be a mix martial arts fighter. Best part of the video is after the big man of the robbers’ crew is beaten down, his boy thinks about...

Astros players upset with Mark Appel's promotion

More than most sports, baseball is about “earning your spot.” Players have to work their way through four or five levels of the minors before getting their chance in the big leagues, and some guys wait close to 10 years before they get their shot. So it’s at least understandable when players get upset over a specific player getting the benefit of the doubt, or getting a promotion...
