NOTE: Sorry to play this game with you, but while I say B.J. Raji or Michael Crabtree is the most likely candidate to be drafted by the Chiefs, I still realize they're anything but a sure-handed play.As I said in my previous article, I believe the Chiefs' best opportunity is to trade down. Mike Mayock confirmed my rhetoric that teams just aren't interested in the draft trade value chart anymore, so I'm glad we can finally steer conversation away from ridiculous accusations that a team is getting screwed because the compensation value does not match the chart. That's especially true this year, since I think Cleveland and Seattle are just as anxious to unload their first round pick (though I do think there is a strong possibility that the Seahawks are in the game for a premiere left tackle to take over for an aging Walter Jones). My guess is that Pioli is going to heavily shop the #3 pick and will gladly take a trade even if he has to take lower trade value to get it. As I mentioned previously, there is nobody in the draft that is worth the #3 pick for the Chiefs. Players on the top of the board for the Chiefs at #3 are either reaches, low on positional value, or in positions that the Chiefs don't have a pressing need for. However, if we apply the test that I mentioned in the last article, here's how I came to the conclusion that Raji and Crabtree are the best bets:
