NASCAR Media Site CHARLOTTE- Joe Nemechek has driven just about everything under the sun in NASCAR. He’s run 651 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races and has made 419 NASCAR Nationwide Series starts. Between those two and the seven NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts, he’s made 1,077 career NASCAR starts. That’s about to get upped by a lot in 2014 as he still plans to run in both the Sprint Cup Series and Nationwide Series this upcoming season to go along with 12 stars in a newly founded Truck. Nemechek, brought his NEMCO team to the Truck Series to help out his 16-year old son John Hunter Nemechek. The second-generation driver, can’t run a full season as some tracks don’t allow a 16-year old to run, so he will run in 10 races while his father will run the other 12. Nemechek, got funding from Pelletgrillusa.com as they will be in the primary sponsor on the No. 8 Truck. John Hunter, made is debut at Martinsville last season where he came home 16th. He will run races at Martinsville, Dover, Gateway, Iowa, Eldora, Bristol, Canadian Tire Motorsports Park, New Hampshire, Martinsville again and Phoenix in 2014. “We all have our bucket lists and racing the truck for a win is on mine,” Joe Nemechek said in a team release. “Trucks are a lot of fun with the high down force and less horsepower. And what better way to make a run for it than with the excitement of sharing the season with my son, and giving him the best possibility to run well.” Nemechek, has four wins and 62 top 10′s in his 21 year career in the Cup Series. He’s also won the Nationwide Series championship in 1992 as he has 16 wins and 125 top 10′s in 24 years in that series. As he said, he’s yet to win in a Truck and wants to join an elite list to win in all three NASCAR divisions. Eric Smith is the Lead Motorsports Writer for Race Review Online.
