Dale Earnhardt Jr., winner of NASCAR’s NMPA Most Popular Driver Award for nine consecutive years, will join fans to kick off the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup. Earnhardt Jr., who currently sits in second place in the NASCAR Sprint Cup standings, will appear in Chicagoland Speedway’s Checkered Flag Fan Zone for a question-and-answer session with fans on Sunday, September 16 prior to the GEICO 400. “We are thrilled to announce that Dale Earnhardt Jr. will be available in the Checkered Flag Fan Zone prior to the GEICO 400,” said Chicagoland Speedway president Scott Paddock. “It’s only fitting that we welcome one of NASCAR’s premier drivers to kick off the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.
