On October 26, we at Sports Injury Alert reported on three Washington Nationals stars having surgery for different reasons. Starting pitcher Stephen Strasburg had bone chips removed from his right elbow on October 25, Bryce Harper had the bursa sac in his right knee repaired on October 23, and Adam LaRoche had what was called “loose bodies” removed from his left elbow — also on October 23. All three players are expected to need four to six weeks of rest, which could get them back into baseball activities and offseason conditioning by late November to early December. Nationals team president and general manager Mike Rizzo expects all three fully-recovered and ready as Spring Training begins in February. CSNWashington.com’s Chase Hughes reports that all three players are on schedule in their recoveries. Hughes quotes Rizzo in updating the players’ progress.
