Front Row Motorsports has named a new crew chief for the No. 38 Ford of David Gilliland for 2012. FRM named veteran crew chief, Pat Tryson as the man on the pit box on Wednesday while Derrick Finley, who was the interim crew chief in 2011 will return back to his role as director of competition.
“I like what this team has done in the last few years, doing the right things and making the right changes to get better every season,” Tryson said. “Gilliland’s a competitive driver — he’s got the fire in his belly — and I’m really looking forward to working with him.”
Tryson comes on board with more than 15 years of experience and race-winning credentials. Most recently he worked for Michael Waltrip Racing as the crew chief for Martin Truex, Jr. Tryson has won eight races in NASCAR’s top series with Kurt Busch, Elliott Sadler, and Mark Martin.
