If TCU basketball falls in the Big East forest, does it make a sound?

I thought about doing some thoughtful analysis of the Big East adding another hoops school (and possibly yet another - UCF is in line if Villanova stays in FCS for football), but then I realized that's already being written by the Andy Katzes of the world. My job is to properly make fun of this bloated mess of a conference-to-be. I'll start by designing a new logo:

ABC.PNGThe ABC. I like it. I think it captures the defining ethos of the league. As Marco said* today, "Memphis must be crying right about now." Seriously, in its quest to Borgify college sports, the Big East would rather have Villanova move up from the FCS than look at a dominant hoops program with a built-in DI team? Failing that, they'd rather add another Florida school (imagine that rivalry with USF - WHOOOO!) than look at the possibilities inherent in the Memphis TV market (OK, I'm not helping my argument there...).

Crazy times, folks. I'll lay odds right now that the lean, ten-team Big 12 will be better in both football and basketball than the ABC, while spending less time on the road and hence less money.
