I love football season, but here are the things I don't love: loud drunks, hypothermia, expensive parking and private seat licenses. So with that, I've shifted my vantage point from the stadium to the couch, opting for an HD TV experience and my own controlled surroundings rather than the increasingly hostile stadium experience. The fact is, even if those things didn't bother you, there's just so much football to see thanks to DirecTV packages that it's hard to pull yourself away and go to the stadiums sometimes.
Because of all that, it only makes sense that the New Meadowlands Stadium is offering a free smartphone application that will add another layer to the stadium experience. The New York Times has some of the details:
This season, the New Meadowlands Stadium will offer fans free smart-phone applications that they can glance at to see video replays, updated statistics and live video from other games — and that will work only inside a stadium.
