The Hornets dropped their second straight Las Vegas Summer League Game 88-86, after being overpowered by the Clippers on the inside. The Clippers scored more points in the paint (48-30) and outrebounded the Hornets (44-29) in a very underwhelming performance by the New Orleans big men. The No. 1 pick from this year’s draft Blake Griffin scored 16 points and added nine rebounds and five assists, but was outperformed by his own teammate, Deandre Jordan.  The Clippers’ future at big man before Griffin came to town came up with 21 points, 12 rebounds and three blocked shots in a very dominating performance. The Hornets’ two rookies came up with strong performances for their second straight game, despite both resulting in losses.  Darren Collison scored 23 points, dished out four assists, and nabbed three steals.  Marcus Thornton scored 19 points—10 in the fourth quarter—and had two steals of his own.
