Wednesday on ESPN’s Outside the Lines, Amani Toomer likened Roger Goodell’s tactics to that of a Gestapo, the name for the secret Nazi police during the late 1930′s and early 40′s. “I think the way Mr. Goodell has handled this, the way he’s kind of using his power, is like the kind of a Gestapo-type situation, controlling the players, not letting the judicial system do its work,” Toomer said. “It rubs a lot of players the wrong way, and that’s why you see a lot of players now lashing out at Mr. Goodell because they don’t feel that it’s fair. We have a legal system in this country. We should let it play itself out before you arbitrarily lay down these laws.
