1.19 New York Giants Justin Pugh, OT, Syracuse, (6-5, 307) The New York Giants continue to do what they do. It’s rarely a sexy pick from the G-Men and this is not different. The Giants know that Eli Manning needs to stay safe in order for them to be successful and Pugh can step in right away at right tackle or right guard. He could also fill-in on the left side if needed. Scouts tend to think his short arms could be a problem in the NFL but Mike Mayock on the NFL Network said it shouldn’t be an issue with Pugh. His technique is solid enough to overcome his “shorter” arms. Some scouts also project him sliding into the center position one day. No matter what position he ends up playing for the Giants, David Wilson, Andre Brown and Eli should all be happy with this pick. First Round NFL Draft Grades: New York Giants

PICK: Justin Pugh, OT/G, SyracuseANALYSIS: I hate this pick so much. I question whether or not he can even be a tackle in the NFL; a right tackle at best. I've always seen him as more of a guard. I've never had Pugh graded as a first round prospect, despite all the recent hype about him. I really think there are much better lineman in this draft, and plenty of better defensive...

Who Will Packers Take? We Say Justin Pugh

How we came to that prediction is almost as interesting as the pick itself. Late developments with two players on the Packers' wish list potentially will have a major impact on how the first round shapes up. In the end, we went with Syracuse OT Justin Pugh over two other strong possibilities.

Dissecting the Draft: Three Syracuse Players Taken in NFL’s First 4 Rounds

In our early draft projections back in November, we felt no Orange would be selected on the first night. We were wrong. Ryan Nassib’s stock dropped, while Justin Pugh’s rose. We pretty much pegged Shamarko Thomas accurately. Here’s a look at where Syracuse players have been drafted through the four rounds: Round 1: (#19 overall) Justin Pugh, New York Giants.  Good fit for...
