Larry Porter strikes again.
Texas added #23 to the 2014 recruiting class as Newton High School’s all-purpose back Kevin Shorter committed to the Longhorns early Saturday.

Just weeks ago Shorter appeared to have a high interest in playing at Arkansas and potentially Texas A&M. It all changed after Shorter attended the inaugural “Texas Stampede” recruiting event in late July. He had an opportunity to get to know the coaching staff and program better and left Austin feeling good about how he could contribute to the Longhorns’ future success.
