Robert Griffin III
New Orleans Saints
The NFL featured five teams starting rookie quarterbacks in Week One. Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III was the only signal caller which came away with a win and was impressive while recording a victory. The two most notable quarterbacks of the 2012 NFL Draft were Griffin and Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck. For the duration of their careers, they will always be compared. Their careers are only one game old, so let’s not get too high on RG III or too low on Andrew Luck.
RG III’s performance was impressive but of all the rookie signal callers, he faced the weakest defense. Browns QB Brandon Weeden was the only rookie to open at home but faced a swarming Eagles defense. Russell Wilson faced the Arizona Cardinals while Ryan Tannehill lined up against the Houston Texans. Luck faced the Chicago Bears.
Let’s compare RG III and Luck’s numbers from Sunday. Griffin completed 19 of 26 passes for 320 yards, two scores and rushed for 42 yards. He finished the game with an impressive 1...
BEST OF MAXIM
It was a perfect day for rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III who had an amazing debut by throwing for 320 yards and two touchdowns as the Washington Redskins upset the New Orleans Saints 40-32, but the NFL front office isn’t happy with him. Before the game on Sunday, Griffin wrote the word “Heart” on the left [...]
Prepare to be annoyed. For those of you who despise the whole "Tebowing" concept, a new phenomenon could soon bug you this football season. It's apparently called "Griffining." Robert Griffin III was impressive in his first career NFL start for the Redskins on Sunday, and among his many nifty plays was an 88-yard touchdown pass to Pierre Garcon. RGIII actually...
With Halloween about a month and a half away I’m sure many Redskins fans will start clambering for their very own Robert Griffin III mask and cape.
No this is not a joke and quite honestly it’s kind of scary.

No doubt about it—Robert Griffin III started his career with a bang on Sunday, with 320 yards, 2 TD passes with no interceptions, and 10 rushes for 48 yards (the gaudy fantasy stats), not to mention a 73% completion percentage, a 139.9 QB rating and most importantly, a win.
The start (and the hype) remind me of a quarterback that I doubted coming into the league last year, and...
RGIII stunned the Saints in his debut for the Redskins, and the Eagles need 4th quarter magic to beat the Browns. CHFF's Justin Henry breaks it down.
NEW ORLEANS -- So much for that steep learning curve. Showcasing his amazing athletic package of speed and accuracy, Robert Griffin III toyed with a dazed New Orleans Saints defense to power the Washington Redskins to a 40-32 victory Sunday in a spectacular NFL debut at the Mercedes Benz Superdome. Griffin completed 19-of-26 passes for 320 yards and two touchdowns, and he burned...
Rookie quarterbacks were the headliners of Week 1 — quick summary: Robert Griffin III was great, Andrew Luck didn’t suck, Brandon Weeden was worse...
It was the first week of the 2012 NFL season, and there was plenty to be excited about. There were great match-ups across the board, to go along with many fascinating story lines. We got to witness Peyton Manning’s debut as the Broncos quarterback, Cowboys and Giants (after lots of trash talking), Mark Sanchez’s season opener with the dramatic filled Jets, and five rookie...
It’s a bad game when the Saints MVP candidate is Astroturf, as it had a better shot of tripping up Robert Griffin III than its defense. I must hand it to RGIII, however. He looked mature in his first outing and in time will emerge as a smarter, more controlled version of Michael Vick. And, that’s gonna be dangerous for all us non-Redskins football fans. Goodness gracious, could...
Remember last year when the ‘Tebowing’ craze was sweeping the nation? Well after a stellar first game performance (19-26, 320 yards and 2 touchdowns in a 40-32 victory at the Saints), Robert Griffin III is quickly becoming the new darling of NFL fans. RGIII’s popularity is growing so rapidly that fans have are starting a [...]
Washington Redskins – 40 New Orleans Saints – 32
By now I am sure you are aware that the Washington Redskins went marching into Saints territory and did something that no team was able to do last year — win in New Orleans — and did it in a rather strong fashion.
The much anticipated debut of Robert Griffin III lived up to everyone in Redskins Nation’s...
Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III hit Pierre Garcon for an 88-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter to begin his NFL career against the New Orleans Saints.
RG3 also hit Aldrick Robinson for a 5-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter.
Jerry Jones noted Tuesday that the Washington Redskins nearly beat the Cowboys twice last season, "without really acceptable quarterbacking."
The Redskins' defense made the difference, Jones said.
The Cowboys defeated the Redskins 18-16 in Week 3 and needed overtime for a 27-24 victory in Week 11.
In those two games, Redskins quarterback Rex Grossman was a combined...
#MusicMonday has returned! In case you're new to my fabulous little column, I go through every Monday and recap/breakdown some of the weekend's more important story lines and set them to some tasty (and topical!) tunes. The idea comes from Twitter where everyone would add the hashtag #MusicMonday or #MM to find new bands and artists. I don't know if I'll necessarily...
