Well, possibly the final nail is in the coffin for disgruntled Senator Dany Heatley. Late last month it was lead to believe that the all-star winger had been traded to the Edmonton Oilers, pending approval from Dany. This deal inevitably fell through as Dany felt he could possibly garner more interest from other teams. This was not the case. The only deal worth taking for Ottawa was to the Oilers. Edmonton Oilers general manager Steve Tambellini tried desperately to get the winger, as the Oilers really lack big talent on offence. Tambellini plead his case, but it was not enough. This afternoon the Oilers formally announced that they will not be pursuing this trade any longer. Talks between the two teams finally broke off this weekend, and Dany will not be traded. The Oilers will be looking in another direction to take their team. Seeing as this deal has officially fallen through this will likely mean that Heatley will be a Senator next season. Hopefully for Heatley and the Senators ...
