Carl Edwards took the pole for today’s Sam’s Town 300, with a qualifying lap of 181.824 mph and 29.699.
Kyle Busch was right behind him, followed by teammate Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Kevin Harvick, Mark Martin (driving for Turner Motorsports), Elliot Sadler, Trevor Bayne, Reed Sorenson, Denny Hamlin and Justin Allgaier.
With only 43 cars entered, no drivers went home.
Notables:
- There are eight drivers who are ineligible for points. They are: Edwards, Busch, Harvick, Martin, Hamlin, Keselowski, JJ Yeley and Kevin Conway.
- Danica Patrick qualified 22nd.
