PLAYERS: Les Miles
TEAMS: LSU Tigers
After watching No. 3 LSU wallop his Huskies by 38 points, Washington coach Steve Sarkisian lamented that the ''complexion'' of the game could have been different if his team hadn't narrowly missed some early opportunities. Meanwhile, LSU's Les Miles was outside the home locker room, citing a handful of dropped passes - one in the end zone - and dropped interception chances that prevented the Tigers from dominating even more than they did in a 41-3 triumph Saturday night. After seemingly going through the motions in a season-opening 41-14 win over North Texas in its opener a week earlier, the Tigers have demonstrated against Washington how large of a gap there is between their squad and an average team in another major conference like the Pac-12.

Tyrann Mathieu spotted in crowd at LSU game

LSU dismissed its starting corner back, Tyrann Mathieu, from its football team on August 10th, for a violation of team and school rules. Mathieu then enrolled in a Houston rehab center in lieu of transferring to another school. Mathieu was not kicked out of LSU and has since re-enrolled at the school. The Honey Badger was spotted in class a few days ago and then at LSU’s game...

Heisman Hopefuls 2012 – After Week 1

With week 1 out of the way, it’s time to readdress the Heisman race and find out who’s hot and who’s definitely not. Tyrann Mathieu is obviously history thanks to getting dismissed from LSU, while Michigan’s Denard Robinson will have too steep an uphill battle after a howler against champs Alabama. I’ll run through my original list - Heisman Hopefuls – and separate...

LSU running back Spencer Ware runs over Washington’s Trey Watson

The LSU Tigers are currently up 34-3 in the 3rd quarter and it doesn’t appear they are slowing down. Running back Spencer Ware has had a great game after being a no-show last week due to a thigh injury.

Washington gets run over by LSU

(Baton Rouge, LA) - Alfred Blue's explosive runs were too tough for Washington to handle and the rest of LSU's running backs made it a really long night for the overmatched Huskies. Blue rushed for 101 yards, including a 21-yard score, and No. 3 LSU racked up 242 yards on the ground in a 41-3 victory over Washington on Saturday night.

Slant Routes - Washington

Kevin Minter Well now, that feels better doesn't it?   A week ago, we saw a ho-hum performance  against North Texas where LSU's team looked like it was merely going through the motions for the majority of the game.  We were left with a lot of questions and even a few concerns.   The season ending injury to Chris Faulk during the week only added to those concerns...

LSU deals with personnel losses prior to Idaho

BATON ROUGE, La. Two games into the season, third-ranked LSU is now playing without two of its top players and a projected starter at a third spot. It's just a little hard to tell when they've won their first two games by a combined score of 82-17. "We have a quality two-deep," LSU head coach Les Miles said. "We lose a guy and someone has to step into the...
