PLAYERS: Bruno Junqueira
Veteran driver Bruno Junqueira has gotten the call to step in for the injured Josef Newgarden at this weekend's Grand Prix of Baltimore.

Junqueira, who won eight victories and finished second in CART/Champ Car points three times from 2001-2007, will make his first IZOD IndyCar Series start since the 2010 Indianapolis 500.

This will make double duty for Junqueira, as the American Le Mans Series is also a part of the Baltimore event weekend. Junqueira currently runs in the ALMS as a full-time competitor, and will race in its Saturday event before IndyCar takes center stage on Sunday (2:30 pm ET, NBC Sports Network).

Newgarden broke his left index finger in a violent crash at Sonoma last weekend with Sebastien Bourdais, who lost control of his machine after a brief run off-course and collected the American rookie in the Turn 8 incident.

Surgery took place on Tuesday to repair Newgarden's injury and he is aiming to compete in the Sept. 15 season finale at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California.

After creating a delay on the cars' push-to-pass overtake systems for the last two rounds, INDYCAR has decided to go with no delay at all for this weekend's festivities in Baltimore. INDYCAR's Trevor Knowles cited driver feedback as the reason for the latest adjustment.

The delay was introduced earlier this month at Mid-Ohio, where it lasted for five seconds. Last weekend at Sonoma, the delay was adjusted to 3.5 seconds.

Each driver will have 90 seconds of push-to-pass time in Baltimore, with a maximum of 20 seconds per activation.
