The St. Louis Blues defeated the Chicago Blackhawks 4-3 in a shootout, earning two important points in a tough contest in the United Center. Jay Bouwmeester made his St. Louis debut and the Blues were able to overcome a late blown lead in a game that saw the club stand tall against one of the best teams in the NHL.  Jay Bouwmeester made his St. Louis debut and it was a strong one. He notched an assist, took two shots, earned two penalty minutes and was a (-1) all while spending 25:06 minutes on the ice.  David Backes scored a goal. It's sad that this is a sentence we haven't been able to use very often in 2013, but it's nice to see Backes finally break through. The goal was his fourth of the year. He last scored on March 1st against Edmonton.  Someone released the Cracknell. Scoring two goals on two shots, Cracknell was the first star of the game.
