Carl Edwards took home the brand new Kobalt Tools 400 trophy in a race that saw two cars catch on fire, issues with tires, penalties and fuel mileage issues.
Both Kurt and Kyle Busch were out of contention rather early. Kurt took a spin on lap 103 and although no damage was caused, it did cause him to play catch up. Ultimately he ended his day ninth. Kyle, on the other hand, wasn’t as lucky. On lap 160, his engine blew (after catching up with the pack after a blown tire), causing his car to catch on fire.
