Eli Manning’s touchdowns and interceptions combined against the Cowboys equaled his big brother’s total of scoring strikes in Week 1. Peyton Manning torched the defending Super Bowl champions for a career-best seven touchdowns last Thursday in Denver’s convincing season-opening win over Baltimore but the Giants’ secondary doesn’t sound as if it’s cowering from the challenge of trying to stop him this Sunday. “Peyton we all know what he brings to the table one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game a true Hall of Famer. But at the same time that doesn’t fear us” safety Antrel Rolle said on a conference call Monday after the Giants returned home from their turnover-ridden 36-31 loss the previous night in Dallas. “We’re going to go out there and we’re going to play defense the way we know how to play defense. We all put on our pants the same way. “I’m a true fan of Peyton Manning but at the same time he is going to be the opponent come Sunday. So we’re going to put our best foot forward and make sure as a defense that we continue to grow and make sure we get on the same page at the same time because we know Peyton’s going to have a lot coming our way.” Peyton Manning is coming off a prolific 49-point 462-yard barrage against the Ravens becoming the sixth quarterback in NFL history to toss seven TD passes in one game and the first since Minnesota’s Joe Kapp in 1969. Wide receivers Wes Welker and Demaryius Thomas and tight end Julius Thomas got into the end zone two times apiece. “You definitely have to get him out of rhythm” Rolle said. “Peyton is a rhythm kind of quarterback and he loves the game to be ran to his tempo … Once you get him out of his comfort zone he’s like any other quarterback.”
