Well the rumors, I guess that's what we should call them for now are heating up, but not about free agents or trades as you might expect around this time of year. Instead it's about the life and times of Frank McCourt and his farewell tour. Below are some scattered links about-well, money, billions of it to be exact. Then there are some tidbits from some of the rumored suitors who are coming out of the woodwork to potentially purchase the Dodgers. Heck maybe even Donald Trump himself. Tomorrow I will be detailing the rumored 11 potential new owners to provide further detail on what we have below.

Jon Heyman says bidding will definitely go over $1 billion, and Frank McCourt may well reach his $1.2 billion target. MLB has agreed to speed up the sale of the team by pre-approving bidders, according to Bill Shaikin via Twitter. However, MLB will not guarantee Frank McCourt a minimum sale price.

O'Malley Time Again?Peter O'Malley told Bill Shaikin that he hopes to assemble a group of investors and buy the Dodgers. O'Malley, 73, has spoken with commissioner Bud Selig about his plans. I don't envision O'Malley having a rough time rallying up the investors. While there are mixed feeling The O'Malley family owning the Dodgers again, I consider them the front-runners as of right now.

FOX is not interested in buying the Dodgers and neither is Athletics owner Lew Wolff, tweets Bill Shaikin of the LA Times. Meanwhile Mark Cuban says he has no plans to bid unless the price drops below the $1BB asking price. That seems very unlikely to happen, in fact there are several reports the price could even go north of the $1.2BB McCourt is hoping for.

Larry Altman of The Daily Breeze reports that Dennis Gilbert has assembled an ownership group and will attempt to purchase the Dodgers. The former White Sox executive made a push to buy the Rangers two years ago.

The Dodgers hmmmm...Brace yourself for this one ladies and gentlemen. Donald Trump tells FOX News that says he's "probably not" going to make a bid to buy the Dodgers but "there's always interest...because it's a great asset." He just can't help himself it really isn't his fault.
