Fire Brand American League:
Brett Anderson knew all the spotlight would be on Nomar Garciaparra which eased him into the game. Anderson, however, managed to be the show last night at Fenway Park.
Anderson threw a two-hit shutout against Boston walking two batters and striking out nine. At certain points during the game, Anderson was throwing 97 mph with pin point accuracy spotting his fastball wherever he wanted to.
Jason Bay and Nick Green had the only hits for the Red Sox.
Garciaparra received a long and deserving standing ovation going 2-for-4 on the night with an RBI.
Star of the Game - Anderson
Watching him from bleacher 37 last night you could see how filthy his slider was and how accurate he was with his fastball.
Next Game - 7/07 vs. Oakland Athletics - Dana Eveland/Josh Beckett
Time to turn things around with Josh Beckett on the hill
