Yoenis Cespedes is certainly making his presence felt since returning from the disabled list on Sunday, April 28.
Already 9-2 on the season with his bat in the lineup prior to his return, the A’s quickly turned in two come from behind victories in his first two games back with the club.
Cespedes played a major role in both games.
Sunday, Yoenis was 2-for-5 at the plate including the game-tying homer in the ninth inning to send the game to extra innings. He also had a single in the sixth inning, moving Seth Smith into scoring position with one out. Smith and Cespedes would both come around to score two batters later on a Josh Donaldson double.
Monday night, it was Cespedes again with the late inning heroics to force a game into extra innings. With Coco Crisp on third base, Cespedes hit a ball off the top of the wall for a RBI single to tie the game. The hit actually should have been a double, but Cespedes hit the ball so hard he thought it was headed out.
