The Oregon State Beavers athletic program has undergone a complete rebranding from Nike and held an event today to release everything to the public.

Oregon State University, in partnership with Nike, today introduced a new brand and identity system that sets the visual direction for Beaver Athletics for years to come and modernizes one of the most recognizable brands in all of intercollegiate athletics.
OSU and Nike officials worked on a nearly two-year brand evolution program to refine and update the celebrated marks of the University, honoring the rich tradition of academics and athletics. With the goal of developing an innovative and contemporary athletic brand identity, OSU and Nike worked with student-athletes, coaches, administrators and alumni to compile input on the department’s brand attributes.

Oregon State becomes the latest school to get a makeover courtesy of Uncle Phil's Misguided Children at Nike. Not only do the Beavers get now unis, but they've got a an updated mascot as well. It's not just a brand new Beaver, it looks like it's something completely new entirely.

I remember writing last year that it would be wise for Oregon State to listen to any ideas Nike was willing to offer. Those in charge in Corvallis certainly did not need me to tell them that though. Now, a little more than a year later we have a glimpse of what the result of a lengthy re-branding project has produced. And it’s fantastic.
