Blue Jays Rant:
Alex Rodriguez knocked two things out of the park yesterday, the first was his career milestone 600th homerun, the second was Blue Jays All-star catcher John Buck.
Buck was placed on the 15-day DL after taking an ARod foul ball off his right hand/thumb area in Wednesday’s 5-1 loss to the New York Yankees.
After the game, the Blue Jays discovered that the injury was far less damaging than originally thought, as X-ray’s failed to show any breaks, however Buck did suffer a cut that needed stitches.
In 84 games this season, John Buck is batting .277 with 14 home runs and 49 runs batted in.
To fill Buck’s role for the next 15 days or so, Jays back-up catcher Jose Molina and AAA-juggernaut J.P Arencibia (called up last night)will step in.
Arencibia who has hit 31hr/79rbi/.303avg in 95 games at AAA-Las Vegas this season, will get an opportunity to show management that he is ready to be a regular next year.
With Arencibia’s call-up the question is posed to you...
