Green Bay Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings was a full
participant in practice for the second day in a row Thursday, and it looks like
he’ll be ready to return this weekend against the Minnesota Vikings, while
fellow wide receiver Donald Driver and linebacker Clay Matthews were among the
players that didn’t suit up yesterday.
Jennings has been sidelined for most of the season due to
injury. His abdominal injury that he sustained early in the year required surgery
and has kept him out for the past month-plus. It now appears that Jennings is
poised to return against the Vikings, offering the Packers and quarterback
Aaron Rodgers another target in an already potent passing game.
Driver was sidelined once again due to a thumb injury, and
Matthews continues to be hampered by a strained hamstring. The linebacker isn’t
expected to play this weekend considering he hasn’t practice yet this week.

Why Mason Crosby won’t be kicked to the curb
The past few games have been filled with cringing, head shaking, curse flinging, eye covering moments for Packers’ fans everywhere. These moments have been the result of the Packers’ starting kicker. Mason Crosby has been in a bit of a sump this season, and suggestions for his replacement have already surfaced. McCarthy and the rest of the team, however, are standing by their...
Fantasy Football News – Greg Jennings Back At Practice, Feels Great
Fantasy Football News - Green Bay Packer’s wide receiver, Greg Jennings, has been practicing this week and says he feels great heading into week 13. It’s worth noting that Jennings was close to returning against the Giants (and maybe they could have used him) but the Packers made him take one more week off. Now he’s practicing in full and the during the portion of practice...
Packers Stock Report: Let’s Pretend That Never Happened Edition
Not even Randall Cobb could rescue the Packers against the Giants.
I’ve been doing the Packers Stock Report weekly for over two years now. Most of you know how it works.
But just in case, it’s important to know this while you’re reading and agreeing/disagreeing with my selections:
I don’t base the rising/falling/steady selections solely on the most recent game. The most...
Packers' Benson to have surgery, remain on IR
GREEN BAY, Wis. Green Bay Packers running back Cedric Benson will remain on injured reserve for the rest of this season after undergoing surgery Wednesday.
Benson initially was placed on Green Bay's injured reserve Oct. 10 after a Lisfranc foot injury, but the team designated him for return under the NFL's new rule. Under this rule, Benson had to sit out six weeks of practice...
Packers not using injuries as an excuse
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. Aaron Rodgers and the rest of the Green Bay Packers have heard the comparisons between this season and their run to the Super Bowl title in 2010 in regard to the way the injuries have piled up.
Rodgers, the league's highest-rated quarterback this season, has been through this before. The media reminds him of that, but he calls this a "different team...
Benson to remain on IR for season
Green Bay Packers running back Cedric Benson will remain on injured reserve for the rest of the season after having surgery on his foot.
The Packers made the announcement Thursday, one day after coach Mike McCarthy says Benson had surgery.
Benson was placed on injured reserve but designated to return on Oct. 10 after spraining his left foot. He was eligible to resume practice,...
Packers' Matthews still a no-go, but Jennings aims for return
Linebacker Clay Matthews will remain sidelined this week with an hamstring injury, but the Green Bay Packers are hoping to get wide receiver Greg Jennings back on the field for Sunday's game against Detroit. Matthews has missed two games in a row with the lingering injury. And while the All-Pro linebacker has made some strides in his rehab work, he hasn't practiced all...
Despite not Meeting Fan Expectations, These 2012 Packers are still damn good
Packers QB Aaron Rodgers
The current Green Bay Packers are not ready for a Super Bowl run. In fact, the team that was just annihilated by the New York Giants last Sunday night would likely struggle to make the playoffs.
Decimated by injuries, the Packers have been forced to plug inexperienced young players into key roles and shuffle veterans into new positions. And yet, the show...
Offensive Line Mess Could’ve Been Avoided
Transition from Bryan Bulaga to T.J. Lang at right tackle hasn’t gone smoothly
I, a blogger who knows more about F. Scott Fitzgerald than Larry Fitzgerald, saw this coming months ago. How one of the best GMs in the National Football League didn’t is mind-boggling. From the time the 53-man roster was set in early September, the Packers were playing with fire on the offensive line...
Packers looking to keep Rodgers upright
The Packers continue to try to find ways to protect Aaron Rodgers, with mixed results. Enter Jared Allen and the Vikings.
Packers must put clamps on Peterson
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- For the Minnesota Vikings (6-5) to make the playoffs this season, they'll need to win at least one of their two upcoming games with the division-rival Packers (7-4). The first of those two NFC North showdowns is Sunday at Lambeau Field, with both teams' regular-season schedules concluding four weeks later in Minnesota.
"I want to go ahead and control...
Packers Playbook (aka Hobbjective Analysis): Week 11 at New York Giants
So in an effort to forget about the Packers dismal showing against the Giants, I instead decided to analyze something completely different, namely the first and only pass that one Graham Harrell has thrown in the National Football League. Some of you might know but Harrell was the only backup quarterback in the NFL who had never thrown a pass in a game (though it has to be said...

Eden Prairie, Minn. -- For Minnesota quarterback Christian Ponder and Green Bay strong safety Morgan Burnett, the Florida State-Georgia Tech rivalry will extend beyond Saturday night's Atlantic Coast Conference championship game.
