The Carolina Panthers are trying out former University of North Carolina cornerback Kendric Burney today, according to a league source.
Burney was with the Panthers on their practice squad last year.
He has a previous stint with the St. Louis Rams.

The San Francisco 49ers announced Tuesday that they have signed linebacker Alex Hoffman-Ellis to the practice squad, and released safety Eddie Whitley.
