The news was first reported by Yahoo! Sports Adrian Wojnarowsk.
When you make a surprise hire like the Nets did and the person you hire has no coaching experience at any level, be prepared to be second guessed.
As soon as there is any type of trouble, Kidd is going to be under the microscope. He can’t afford any slip ups on or off the court.
He is getting a tremendous opportunity, that others have worked years for and never gotten. Don’t...

Then this past Sunday, news of Kidd wanting to coach the Brooklyn Nets surfaced out of the blue.
Now according to the Philadelphia Inquirer, former 76ers and current Nets GM Billy King is set to name Kidd the team’s head coach any day...

In the blink of an eye Jason Kidd went from struggling in the playoffs, to retiring from the NBA, to becoming the head coach of the Brooklyn Nets. After 19 seasons as a player Kidd will become the 18th head coach in the franchise’s history.

While we’ve admitted to being a Cleveland sports fan—trust us, that’s a BIG move to do—we pride ourselves for not waking up this morning and saying we’re a Brooklyn Nets supporter. On top of supporting a team who used to play in Jersey—you know, the armpit of America?—the organization’s top guns decided that a recently [...]
Jason Kidd could be reunited with the Nets franchise by the end of
the week as Kidd emerges as the top candidate to take over as
Brooklyn's new head coach, according to multiple reports.
Billy King and the Nets might have pulled off the biggest surprise of the NBA season with their decision to hire Jason Kidd as their head coach. Just a week after he retired as a Knick, Kidd returns to his former team as the savior he once was when they inhabited New Jersey. This may not be the glamorous move that Mikhail Prokhorov wanted (see Phil Jackson), but it certainly is gutsy...
Nets to hire Jason Kidd
The Nets spent a long day interviewing Pacers assistant Brian Shaw. They listend to what Shaw had to offer and the ideas he had for the future of the Nets. They listened.
Shaw was once again a bridesmaid and not the bride as another interview fell short for Shaw and he was passed over in his quest to become a head coach.
The Nets have...
Jason Kidd offered Lawrence Frank the opportunity to be part of his staff with the Brooklyn Nets.
"The invitation is out there, so it's up to him," Kidd said Friday.
"He's in a special situation. He's at home, his wife is sick, so I understand coming off of coaching [the Detroit Pistons] and [possibly] wanting a year off with his family, so I respect that...
The Brooklyn Nets could have played it safe.
They could have done what was widely expected and hired longtime NBA assistant Brian Shaw as the franchise's 18th head coach. They could have retained P.J. Carlesimo, a 64-year-old coaching lifer, who led the team to a 49-33 record and its first trip to the NBA playoffs since 2007 last season. They could have gone a more traditional...
It’s hard to imagine Patrick Ewing playing somewhere other than Georgetown for his college basketball career, but that was very nearly the case.
During an interview on The Dan Patrick Show on Thursday morning, Ewing said that he was considering attending North Carolina to play for coach Dean Smith, but ultimately a Ku Klux Klan rally made him reconsider.
“I was close [to attending...
It's a big difference between coach on the floor and coach for real.
