It was a Dirk-vs.Kobe duel, but big-picture, Sunday at the American Airlines Center was more than that: Dallas and LA combined to win three of the past four NBA titles, and while the Lakers' 103-99 win was a thriller - and while it was fun watching the once-mighty play at a high level ... the once-mighty fell again.
Oh, how the mighty have fallen.
The Sunday matinee matchup...

Not a lot of people expected the Lakers to beat the Nuggets in Denver, especially on the 2nd night of a back-to-back. But that kind of doubt shouldn't apply to the Lakers themselves. Not now. And not when they're this close to making the 8 teams that are currently in the heirarchy of the playoffs start worrying about facing them.
The Lakers were a game below the .500...

Mark Cuban gets in trouble for saying all kinds of things, so it wasn’t surprising when his suggestion that a conference rival get rid of its best player was met with squawks.
Kobe Bryant going off for 38 points and then tweeting “Amnesty THAT” was just the beginning, though. The NBA is now looking into fining Cuban for his comments, according to The Los Angeles Times.
