One man who may know a thing or two about what Lance Armstrong is going through right now is baseball's hit king, Pete Rose.Rose made an appearance on NBC's Today show Thursday morning and offered some of his thoughts on Armstrong's reported admission to doping, which is scheduled to come via interview with Oprah Winfrey. The exclusive interview is set to air on OWN at 9:00 PM EST."I waited too long," said Rose of his own admission to gambling on baseball while managing for the Cincinnati Reds. "I'm glad he's coming forward. I hope it's not too late for him."When asked by host Matt Lauer if he believed fans would forgive the former seven-time Tour de France winner for using performance-enhancing drugs, Rose said "most of the time they'll give you a second chance. ... But they have to know you're sincere."Rose initially went on the show to promote his new reality series called "Pete Rose: Hits and Mrs". It features the relationship between "Charlie Hustle" and his soon-to-be wife, Kiana Kim, a former Playboy model.Rose is banned from baseball for life and not eligible for Hall of Fame consideration.Via USA TODAY.
