Peyton Manning spoke with media today about his on going injury recovery and the Colts season in general.  As for the injury he didn't give much insight other than he is still waiting for the fusion to occur in his neck and a time table is still out of question. Phil Simms of CBS and Showtime made the comment Manning won’t “let” the Colts draft Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck.  This is what manning had to say to him today Indianapolis Star - “Yeah, I don’t talk to Phil. Phil doesn’t talk to me. He did text me after that, saying ‘Hey, sorry to drag your name into this.’ I wrote back, ‘Phil I don’t know what you’re talking about.’ He said, ‘Well on my show, Inside the NFL, I made this statement.’ I said, ‘Phil, I hate to break it to you, but I don’t watch your show, along with a lot of other people that I don’t think watch that show.’ Giving himself a little more credit than probably was merited. Wicked burn by Peyton. When asked if he would m

The Colts losing: A Manning kiss off?

Let’s be really honest here. The Indianapolis Colts winless season is historic. Obviously because Peyton Manning is out for the season. And, also because head coach Jim Caldwell is no Tony Dungy. But, and I’m still keeping it real, something seems really, really odd. How can a team implode from the absence of one man? A team that in the last decade has produced...

Is Peyton Manning’s career in jeopardy?

There will come a point in time when the Indianapolis Colts must make a decision as to Peyton Manning;  either keep the QB, pay him a lot of money and hope that he’s healthy, or drop the QB, and build for the future, preferably around Andrew … [visit site to read more]Is Peyton Manning’s career in jeopardy? - The Jet Press - The Jet Press - A New York Jets Fan Site - News...

Colts QB Manning still waiting for neck to heal

INDIANAPOLIS—Peyton Manning would like to play this season if he can. He's just not sure when, or if, it will happen.

The New Orleans Saints are becoming inconsistent

The New Orleans Saints are becoming just as inconsistent of a team as the rest of their division, which includes the Carolina Panthers, Atlanta Falcons, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. After destroying what is left of the Indianapolis Colts without Peyton Manning, the Saints expected the same from the St. Louis Rams, but got head-butted out the stadium. They were completely dominated...

Monkey wrench for 'Suck for Luck' crowd

There has been plenty of discussion the past few weeks -- much of it summarily dismissed in the locker rooms of the franchises most often mentioned -- about whether a team might purposely sabotage its season to gain the first overall selection in the 2012 NFL draft, and thus, the rights to Stanford quarterback and Heisman Trophy candidate Andrew Luck. For the most part, players...

Pre-Oregon State interview: Brent Etiz

Every week Stanford sends out three captains to the opening coin toss —- one from the offense, one from the defense and one from the special teams squad. The offense’s leader is Andrew Luck and Michael Thomas always represents the defense, but the special teams captain changes from week to week depending on last game’s performances.

Phil Simms: Andrew Luck hype is ‘a little too much’

It's basically a fait accompli that Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck will be the first overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft should he choose to declare for it, and there are those who believe that Luck is the best college quarterback prospect in years — maybe since Peyton Manning, maybe since John Elway. But one analyst who's not necessarily over the moon with Luck's...

Stanford not overlooking Oregon St. after USC win

There's no blaming Stanford for reveling in that triple-overtime victory over USC last weekend. It's a win that will likely go down as one of the more memorable games of this season. So it seemed only natural that much of the talk surrounding the fourth-ranked Cardinal (8-0, 6-0 Pac-12) this week was about that game. Oregon State, which hosts Stanford on Saturday, got little...
