Coyote Ugly Not the best time of the season to be a Canucks fan right now as the wheels are starting to fall off a bit, the injuries are mounting and the city of Vancouver is once again coming to the realization that the team is not performing to the impossibly high standards the fans have set. This too shall pass, but with three days off before Saturday’s game against Los Angeles, there’s a lot of time for naval gazing and criticism. Love ‘Em  Schneid’s accountability Had to love Cory Schneider‘s personal responsibility rant following the game, where he lamented his inability to make a game changing save and needing to get back to allowing only a couple of goals a night. It’s not as much of his fault as he implied, but the awareness is a necessary step in righting the malaise that is once again creeping into Canuck town. The House That Trevor Built Just before the puck dropped, the Canucks announced that Japandroids had won the poll to be the Canucks’ new entrance theme, which is awesome. Shots and shots and shots One of the few bright spots last night was Jason Garrison‘s bright shots. He ripped a goal for the Canucks’ first of the game, and was looking dangerous putting the puck on net all night. Encouraging stuff. The Canucks got outplayed by the Coyotes on Tuesday night (Photo: nhl.com) Hate ‘Em Booooring hockey There wasn’t a whole lot of excitement to this one, as the Coyotes brought their patented blend of trapping and napping to Rogers Arena. It took a surprising amount of time for both teams to even put a puck on net, and it didn’t get a lot better from there. If scoring chances were an animal life form, this game would have put it on the endangered species list. AHLberts Speaking of things that took a while to materialize, Andrew Alberts is finally playing hockey this year and out of the press box thanks to Kevin Bieksa‘s injury. The rust is quite evident, as Alberts looked like a pylon on the Coyotes first goal, and was ineffective for most of the game. And don’t forget, the Canucks are just one more blueline injury away from dressing Cam Barker. Gonna blame the zebras again  Which is really easy when they make calls like the diving infraction on Daniel Sedin that really wasn’t a dive at all.  Then later not making a call when Antoine Vermette reached for a puck and popped Alex Burrows in the face, which John Shorthouse astutely tied back to Jannik Hansen‘s alleged attack on Marian Hossa. Frustrating. CLICK HERE CHECK OUT THE VANCOUVER CANUCKS CLUBHOUSE TODAY ON NWSB!
