Found July 03, 2013 on NBA Injury News:
The Detroit Pistons enter the offseason with money to spend and a solid young core in big men Andre Drummond and Greg Monroe. Detroit is seeking to add to this foundation, as the team has already been tied to free agents Josh Smith and Andre Iguodala. Beyond free agents, the Pistons are also looking into trades involving Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo and Toronto Raptors forward Rudy Gay, according to Ken Berger of CBS Sports. The Celtics are clearly rebuilding. The team has already parted ways with veterans Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce, and coach Doc Rivers left for Los Angeles. There is thought that Boston could look to build around Rondo, or he could be viewed as another piece to help jumpstart the team’s rebuilding effort. The Pistons could look to trade for one superstar and sign another this offseason, or vice versa. Whatever the case, Detroit has money, bad contracts and coveted young players to shop, so it could be an interesting offseason for the team.Follow @hoopsinjurynews

Rajon Rondo: The Celtics’ sudden unknown

I am, for the sake of the next thousand words or so, going to take Danny Ainge at his word and assume Rajon Rondo will be back next season. There’s no way, though, to know exactly what Rajon Rondo we’ll see whenever he does return. We can have whatever debates we want about Rondo.  To some, he is an enigmatic genius whose on-court prescience and mastery of angles make him a uniquely...

Your Morning Dump… Where Ainge wants to see if Rondo can lead the new Celtics

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. A source told Sporting News on Monday that, while Ainge gets calls on Rondo regularly, he has no intention of trading him, but rather, wants to see how Rondo operates as the team leader without Pierce and Garnett...

Boston Celtics hire Brad Stevens

And finally, after the last month of rumors and dread and pain and heartbreak, the good news begins. This afternoon, the Boston Celtics and Butler University announced that 36-year old head coach Brad Stevens would be going pro. Stevens leaves Butler with a 166-49 record, and two national title games (’10,’11).  Now how excited am I that the Boston Celtics hired a college coach...

Rajon Rondo’s Desire to Be Next Celtics Great Complicates Team’s Rebuilding Effort

He clashes with teammates. He bumps referees, when he’s not tossing basketballs at them. He stares icily at reporters who ask him questions he doesn’t appreciate. And despite all that has happened, he still very much wants to be here. Rajon Rondo is many things, not all of them things that everyone likes. But this much has to be said for the Celtics’ All-Star point guard: He...

Three reasons why it's a bad idea for the Celtics to trade Rajon Rondo

Yesterday Danny Ainge said that he's taken calls from other teams regarding Rajon Rondo, but that he has no intentions of dealing away his All-Star point guard.  A Sporting News article by Sean Deveney also sites a source who says Rondo has not asked to be traded, despite being the lone holdover from the Celtics 2010 Finals team.  However, the trade rumors regarding Rondo never...

Josh Smith met with Detroit, Boston Celtics in pursuit

Josh Smith has been a player of much debate among Celtics fans. Some would love to bring Smith in to Boston and watch him and his best friend Rajon Rondo connect on alley-oops all game. Others? Report: Mavericks Want Rondo, but Celtics Asking for Dirk

Word around the league is that Rajon Rondo is not exactly the building block for the Boston Celtics’ reconstruction project. While GM Danny Ainge admitted at the NBA Draft that the team wasn’t looking to trade Rondo at this point in time, it looks like Ainge wasn’t completely honest. Rumors have been floating that the [...]

Your Morning Dump… Where the Rondo/Stevens relationship should be fine

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. There will be much talk about “how he will handle Rajon Rondo” and “will he be able to get through to Rondo.” But all this discussion presupposes a claim we have not purchased — that Rondo is clinically...

Danny Ainge wants you to believe that the Celtics aren’t trying to trade Rajon Rondo

If you believe the multiple reports, the Celtics have been trying to trade Rajon Rondo for quite some time.
