Doug Delony KRIV-TV HOUSTON - Two former Texas Southern University basketball players have felony warrants out for their arrest after accusations that they stole jewelry from the mens head coach. According to Harris County court records, Jasmine Payne and Withworth Treasure stole 534,000 in jewelry from the home of TSU coach Tony B. Harvey. The crime allegedly went down in February as Harvey was out of town during an away game. The coach called police after finding out about the theft. "We were in Mississippi, and my cleaning lady came into my place and recognized that my back window had been busted out, and my place was ransacked," Harvey told FOX 26 Sports. "When I got back in town the next day, I went and did the police reports," said Harvey. "I just so happened to call two or three jewelers at one time because I had some really high end pieces, and I told them I had been robbed -- in case someone was going to try and sell the pieces. "I got a call back a couple hours later, and they told me they recognized that someone tried to sell some of my jewelry back," Harvey said. "When I went down there to look at the tape that Tuesday evening, I recognized two of the people that had my jewelry." Investigators later determined the suspects, Payne and Treasure, attempted to sell at least 90,000 worth of the jewelry at a Sharpstown store for just 3,600. Harvey says Treasure played on his team at TSU. The female suspect, Payne, was on the women's team at the school. "It's very disappointing," Harvey said about Treasure. "I hadn't seen him in a long time, but I happened to see him at a game a couple weeks ago. It's just really disappointing." Harvey said he hadn't yet taken out insurance on the jewelry. "I just feel violated," said the coach. "This is a young person that I tried to help, and I tried to help tremendously in more ways than one -- both on the court and off the court."
