In a move that seemed to be inevitable for the last couple of weeks, the NFLPA finally went through with their decertification on Friday, opening the door for the players to file antitrust lawsuits against the NFL. This means that, because the two sides couldn’t figure out how to divide up $9 billion, negotiations have currently broken off. Apparently, the two sides did get closer to a deal in the last few days, but not nearly close enough, as the two sides are still $185 million a year apart compared to $1 billion a year a week ago.
