Police in India's Punjab state reportedly plan to question Olympic boxing bronze medalist Vijender Singh in a case involving a drug haul of more than $25 million from an international network.
Top police official Hardyal Singh Mann was widely quoted in the Indian media on Monday as saying one of two men arrested with 26 kilograms (57 pounds) of heroin told police that two boxers, Vijender Singh and Ram Singh, were his clients.
Singh is a common last name in India and the two boxers are not related.
Vijender won a bronze medal at the 2008 Beijing Games - the first ever Olympic medal for an Indian boxer.
