Things during the ALCS against the Boston Red Sox could not have gone worse for Detroit Tigers first baseman Prince Fielder. He struggled mightily at the plate, but his worse moment of the playoffs came during this pickle. He dove for third base and wasn’t even close. Plenty of Tigers fans are going to complain about his contract this offseason after a dismal playoffs and Fielder is going to have some questions to answer.

Prince Fielder has been pretty terrible at the plate this ALCS but, ironically, his most embarrassing moment came when he finally got on base in the sixth inning of Saturday’s Game 6. Fielder attempted to score on a ground ball to second base but was caught in a pickle when Dustin Pedroia came home with the throw. Prince then tried to dive back into third base and, well, things...

The nine-year $214-million contract the Detroit Tigers signed Prince Fielder to just two seasons ago was not supposed to hurt the organization until the twilight-stretch of years seven, eight and nine. After just two though, it is clear it is time to call a...
Prince Fielder‘s belly flop near third base in the sixth inning of Game 6 of the ALCS was perfect.
It wasn’t perfect because of what transpired after the slugger’s earth-rumbling tumble, but rather because it summarized his playoff performance better than any words ever could.
Fielder’s baserunning blunder in Game 6 was inexplicable. The Tigers were poised for a big inning...
Baseball breaks your heart.
"It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall all alone.
"You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory...

Prince Fielder Belly Flop
First came the rain then came the boos raining down on Prince Fielder.
And if you’d been paying attention you knew both were in the forecast Thursday night at Comerica Park.
If Game 5 was a pivot point in this American League Championship Series between the Tigers and the Boston Red Sox it also might prove to be one between the baseball fans in Detroit and the team’s highest...
You can't beat fun at the ballpark ...
... and you can't beat Prince Fielder in a diving competition.
The Detroit Tigers hefty first baseman produced one of the more memorable moments from the American League Championship Series vs. the Boston Red Sox.
This one occurred in Game 6 at Fenway Park on Saturday night.
With no outs in the top of the sixth inning, Fielder was...
The Tigers were threatening in the top of the sixth inning, and while they were able to put a couple of runs on the board, one of their own helped limit the damage for the Red Sox.
With runners on the corners and no outs, Jhonny Peralta hit a grounder to Dustin Pedroia. The second baseman was able to tag out Victor Martinez between first and second base, but he was also able to complete...
For the Red Sox, the road to the 2013 World Series included a dramatic win in game six of the ALCS–a game punctuated with some real time-vault material. It is my pleasure to provide a brief, visual summary of the game’s highlights, courtesy of these four GIFs:
First, Prince Fielder was like:
Then Victorino was all:
Then Koji stepped up and said:
And he was later seen winning...
I love the effort, Prince Fielder. Just give it your all. Head first belly flop.
Except, you were four feet short and three right to the right of the bag.
