It will be interesting to see how sportswriters polls treat UGA in light of Alabama's beatdown of ND.
My final AP top-25 football ballot: Alabama’s No. 1, followed by Oregon and Georgia (Notre Dame drops to No. 5, Stanford remains No. 7)
I don't understand the polls. Notre Dame gets steamrolled by Bama yet stayed at number 3 in the Coaches Poll. Georgia comes within an eyelash of beating Bama on the game's final play and dropped precipitously in the polls. Oh well, you solve that problem by winning.
Obviously, the Tide was a unanimous No. 1 selection of the coaches following their third title in four years. Additionally, Georgia finished at No. 4 followed by Texas A&M at No. 5. Two other teams were in the Top 10 — No. 7 South Carolina, No. 10 Florida — while LSU at No. 12 and Vanderbilt (!) at No. 20 rounded out the seven-strong SEC contingent in the Top 25.
The five teams in the Top 10 from the SEC is the first time any conference has accomplished that feat in the coaches’ poll.

Serious question – would Notre Dame have finished higher than 5th in the SEC East this year?Okay, maybe it's not such a serious question. Vandy did lose to Northwestern (the week after playing South Carolina tough but losing 17-13)
That said, there is no way that Notre Dame would beat Florida or South Carolina to finish 3rd in the SEC East. Fourth place in the East is...
Kate Upton rips on Notre Dame and Mark Sanchez on twitter, piling on the two embarrassing performances. I’m sure most of us would love Kate Upton to Pile on us when she’s done ripping into them. It’s Ok Notre Dame, this happens to the Jets every week Damn girl, observant, cruel and very hot. [...]
Happy new year folks from everyone at SILVERMAN: On Sports!
Fun show tonight previewing and talking about the BCS Championship Game in South Florida. As much I wanted a tie (I know, I know it isn’t possible) I knew that Notre Dame would be routed!
Thanks to Bob Wieneke of the South Bend Tribune and Jeff Speegle of ABC in Birmingham for checking in with us from Sun Life Stadium...
College GameDay’s Lee Corso has brought us many memorable moments from this year’s College Football season. Whether it was calling a 5-year-old a Midget or calling Collin Klein Calvin Klein. Before Monday’s National Championship game between the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame and the Crimson Tide of Alabama, Corso went out on a limb and selected the underdog, Notre Dame. Afterwords...
Cheer, cheer for old Notre Dame, indeed.
BCS National Championship Game #1 Notre Dame (12-0) vs. #2 Alabama (12-1) in Miami, Florida Kickoff is just hours away for the most anticipated Notre Dame game I have ever seen. Being an Irish fan for over 20 years now, unfortunately big games have been far and few between. Sometimes I still have to pinch myself that this 12-0 dream season has really occurred. As has been the case...

Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te’o closed out his career as the most decorated player in college football history. The senior won the Lott Trophy, as well as the Maxwell Award, the Chuck Bednarik Award, the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, the Butkus Award, the Lombardi Award, and the Walter Camp Award. He placed second in the voting for the Heisman Trophy, tying Hugh Green for...

16) Dominating college football is the only reason why the South doesn't try harder to secede, and without the South, you'd have a far smaller pool of domestic and landscaping help to draw from
15) The late ND touchdowns allow you to trot out that pathetic "At least our guys never quit" line

Alabama had no problem with Notre Dame in the BCS Championship Game. Down 28-0 out of halftime, Notre Dame needed to a miracle. Unfortunately for the Irish, their most promising drive of the game to that point ended with a spectacular interveption by Alabama’s Ha’Sean Clinton-Dix.
Clinton-Dix showed great determination in flying in to come up with an interception off a tipped...
The BCS National Championship game played on Monday night between Notre Dame and Alabama was expected to break viewership records since the moment it was set. Unfortunately for ESPN’s executives, there were no records broken, but the good news is that it could have been much worse. Considering the fact that Alabama was leading 28-0 after the first half, things could have actually...
Notre Dame proved throughout 2012 it was back as a national competitor. It proved Monday night in Miami that no program is on par with the all-powerful Alabama Crimson Tide.
