Darren Sproles has a broken left hand and there is some optimism that he may not actually miss 4 weeks. The break is up near the wrist and that area apparently is less prone to reinjury than the more delicate portion of bones closer to the fingers.

Just when things couldn’t get any worse for the struggling New Orleans Saints, it did yesterday as the team announced that RB Darren Sproles would not suit up Monday Night vs. the Eagles with a broken hand that required surgery.
The surgery was low-key, and announced after it was already complete, but the team didn’t announce how long Sproles would be sidelined.
